- Model Risk Oversight: Develop and maintain the model risk management framework, including policies and procedures that address the identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of model risk.
- Governance: Ensure robust model risk governance structures are in place, overseeing adherence to regulatory guidelines/requirements and internal risk appetite.
- Risk Assessment & Monitoring: Conduct regular risk assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of models and monitor their performance throughout their lifecycle.
- Model Inventory Management: Oversee and maintain the organization’s model inventory, ensuring all models are appropriately documented, categorized, and assessed for their risk profile.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact between model owners, users, and other stakeholders (e.g., auditors) to ensure effective communication and mitigation of model risk issues.
- Reporting & Documentation: Provide regular reports to senior management, committees, and the board, summarizing model risk exposures, governance activities, and key risk metrics.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the organization's model risk management practices meet regulatory/group-wide standards, responding to inquiries from regulatory/parent bodies as necessary.
- Model Risk Education: Support the development and delivery of training programs related to model risk awareness and best practices across the organization.
- Model Change Management: Oversee and ensure appropriate controls are in place for model development, implementation, and change management.
- Audit & Review Support: Coordinate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations during reviews or examinations.
Tələblər:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees (MBA, MS, or PhD) are a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in risk management, model risk oversight, or a related field.
- Experience with regulatory frameworks (Basel, IRB, IFRS, SR 11-7 etc.).
- Familiarity with model lifecycle management and risk control frameworks.
- Strong understanding of models and their associated risks (e.g., credit risk, market risk, and operational risk).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess model risk independently.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for engaging with stakeholders across multiple levels.
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams and coordinating with various departments.
- Ability to understand and interpret regulatory guidelines related to model risk management.
- Model Risk Related certification is recommended. Certifications such as FRM, PRM, or CFA are preferred but not required.
- Critical Thinking: Ability to evaluate complex issues and make informed risk-based decisions.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy, completeness, and control.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead initiatives and influence outcomes in a complex risk environment.
- Adaptability: Able to navigate and adapt to changing regulatory environments and evolving business needs.
